About COPA Soccer Training Center COPA STC is a 110,000 square‑foot facility located in the Shadelands SportsMall, Walnut Creek, California. With an elite coaching staff and cutting‑edge sports science technology, we provide a data‑driven approach to athlete development for all ages. About the Position The Youth Sports Performance Coach will work within SpeedLab, our innovative program that utilizes laser timing, agility testing, velocity‑based training, and advanced analytics to elevate athlete performance. The role is part‑time and requires 3‑5 days per week of coaching. Role Details 10–20 hours per week, leading small‑group and large‑team training sessions for ages 9‑19 Deliver SpeedLab training sessions focused on movement skill acquisition and performance improvement Conduct assessments, talent identification, video analysis, and camp sessions as needed Engage athletes, parents, and teammates in a safe, technology‑enriched environment Participate in staff development and outreach events Schedule & Availability Details 3–5 days per week Mon–Fri: 3 pm–8:30 pm Sat–Sun: 9 am–3 pm Key Responsibilities & Objectives Provide individualized coaching to maximize each athlete’s potential Maintain high standards of safety and quality in training environments Collaborate with coaching staff to refine training methodologies Document training sessions, progress, and performance metrics accurately Characteristics Patient, energetic, inspirational, and dependable Creative problem‑solver with a growth mindset Strong interpersonal skills with athletes, parents, and teammates Committed to continuous learning and professional development Requirements Experience coaching youth athletes Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or enrollment in a Kinesiology program Certification in CSCS, XPS, or equivalent strength/conditioning credential Physical ability to perform light‑to‑moderate exercise and equipment handling Comfortable with technology, operating software, and data‑collection tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong time‑management and organizational abilities Customer‑service orientation with problem‑solving skills What We Offer Competitive base salary plus performance‑based incentive bonus Comprehensive benefits package including 401(k), healthcare, and paid time off Access to our state‑of‑the‑art gym and training spaces during work hours On‑site training, free facility access, and a collaborative coaching environment Opportunities for career advancement and ownership participation within the organization This job description is not intended to be an all‑inclusive list of responsibilities or working conditions.
