About the Role:

The Vet Assistant, Tech Assistant at Essex Animal Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and veterinary technicians in delivering high-quality medical care to animals. Minimum Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures by restraining and handling animals safely.
• Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas by cleaning, sterilizing instruments, and setting up necessary equipment.
• Monitor and record vital signs of animals, such as temperature, pulse, and respiration, and report any abnormalities to the veterinary team.
• Provide compassionate care and support to animals recovering from procedures, including feeding, exercising, and administering medications as directed.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners by answering questions, providing instructions for at-home care, and scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper storage and disposal of materials in compliance with hospital protocols.
