Job Summary:

Pioneers is seeking a Software Engineer Intern to assist with various software engineering projects and gain hands-on experience. The intern will work on real-world projects, contribute to the company's success, and receive mentorship from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:

• Software Development: Assist in the design, development, and implementation of software applications. This may include developing custom tools, scripts, and software solutions to enhance productivity.

• Testing and Debugging: Conduct testing and debugging of software applications to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability. Document test results and provide recommendations for improvements.

• Data Analysis and Reporting: Develop and maintain software for data collection, analysis, and reporting to support decision-making processes.

• System Integration: Assist in integrating software solutions with existing systems and machinery. Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between different systems.

• Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of software designs, code, test procedures, and test results. Ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

• Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and production managers, to understand software requirements and deliver effective solutions.

• Research: Conduct research on new software technologies, development tools, and methodologies to support the development of innovative software solutions.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

• Basic understanding of software development principles, programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, QT, agile, CI/CD)

• Familiarity with software development tools (e.g., Linux, Git, Github, VS Code, Docker)

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to effectively convey technical information

• Pays attention to details and ensures accuracy in work

• Eager to learn and take on new challenges

• Shows initiative and a proactive approach to tasks

• Works well with others and contributes to a positive team environment

• Able to adjust to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred:

• Classwork and/or experience with IIOT, AWS, MQTT, nosql databases (Influxdb), JSON data structures, UI development and web development

• Prior internship or project experience in software development
