Site Reliability Engineer (AWS)
Location: Jersey City, New Jersey (Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Candidate Preference: Local candidates or those willing to relocate to Jersey City, NJ.
Interview Process:
1 Zoom/Technical interview
1 Onsite interview with leadership
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
AWS Certification: Solutions Architect Associate or higher
AWS Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of recent, hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, EKS, RDS)
Total Experience: 7-8 years minimum overall IT experience
Operating Systems: Proficiency in Unix/Linux and shell scripting
Networking: Understanding of NFS, LAN, and TCP/IP protocols
Monitoring: Familiarity with DataDog and Grafana
Databases: Experience with MySQL or Oracle
Scripting: Skills in Shell, Python, or Go
DevOps Tools: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Jenkins
Availability: Willingness to participate in on-call rotation for weekend/off-hours support (2-3 hours max on weekends, releases may be longer)
Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact with users and external clients
Responsibilities:
Ensure the stability and reliability of the Onyx blockchain platform in production.
Automate production support functions to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Provide timely and effective support during on-call rotations.
Collaborate with users and external clients to address platform-related issues.
Work in a DevOps-like environment, interacting with development and operations teams.
Participate in release and deployment activities.
Additional Notes:
Recent and active AWS certifications are strongly preferred.
The candidate will be unavailable during the last two weeks of December.
