Position : Senior Tax Manager

Pay : Pay will be commensurate with experience

Full Time / Part Time : Full Time

Remote: The position will have on site requirements with the ability to work remotely on occasion

Overview : We are a CPA firm based in Orland Park, IL that specializes in business tax and consulting. Our firm currently consists of 5 people. We serve businesses and individuals in multiple states and industries but are focused primarily on the Chicago area. We have a concentration of construction companies, medical and dental practices, and professional service companies as clients. Our work environment is flexible and relaxed and we are focused on helping our employees achieve their professional goals while maintaining a work / life balance.

Description: The position is for a Senior Tax Manager that has at least 7 years of experience. The primary responsibilities will include:

· Prepare business and personal tax returns

· Prepare reviewed and compiled financial statements and associated due diligence checklists

· Consult with clients on various matters including tax planning, retirement plans, accounting and bookkeeping matters, growth strategy, cash flow, profitability, sales or purchases of businesses, etc.

· Prepare payroll tax returns

· Prepare sales tax returns

· Internal bookkeeping as well as bookkeeping for clients using primarily QuickBooks and Sage

o Pay bills

o Reconcile bank and credit card accounts

o Prepare deposits

o Journalize transactions for each period

· Manage deadlines for the office

· Process tax returns for client delivery

· Office Administration

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills :

· Skilled in tax return planning and preparation

· Proficient in GAAP accounting and the preparation of financial statements and associated notes to financial statements as well as the due diligence requirements associated with those tasks

· Familiarity with PPC (or similar) due diligence checklists

· Highly proficient with Excel and QuickBooks

· The ability to complete tasks independently and manage tight deadlines

· Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail

· Excellent problem-solving skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills both internally and with clients

· Experience with Lacerte tax preparation software is a plus

· CPA is preferred but not required
