They are looking for a detail-oriented senior accountant to perform and coordinate accounting duties within our organization. The senior accountant's responsibilities include helping to prepare financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit process, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.

To be successful as a senior accountant, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. An outstanding senior accountant should also possess strong MS Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Accounting: Participate in date-to-day accounting functions and programs, participate in smooth transition to NetSuite from current accounting system.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial analyses and reports, leveraging advanced features in NetSuite for detailed reporting.
  • Month-end Close Management: Perform and/or oversee the month-end closing processes for multiple legal entities, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements preparation.
  • Lead the North American Financial Statement Consolidation process.
  • General Ledger Management:
  • Perform and/or review monthly general ledger account reconciliations. Employ advanced Excel functionalities such as VLOOKUP, SUMIF, and PivotTables for efficient verification and reconciliation.
  • Utilize NetSuite's modules for comprehensive transaction management, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts to ensure error-free accounting reports.
  • Audit Support:
  • Assist with annual audit preparations by generating reconciliation schedules and collaborating with auditors for specific NetSuite data needs.
  • Investigate and address audit findings, account discrepancies, and compliance issues. Leverage NetSuite's audit trail features for comprehensive anomaly tracing.
  • System Analysis: Review subsidiary structures, chart of accounts, and custom fields. Provide insights on system enhancements or integrations to optimize accounting processes.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the design and modification of accounting systems, programs, and procedures to stay ahead of evolving business needs.

Requirements and Skills:

  • At least a BS Degree in Accounting. MBA and CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of Big-Four or leading public accounting firm experience
  • 3-5 years of experience working in accounting function in industry.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially in advanced functions and spreadsheet management.
  • Ability to work with little to minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of and experience with NetSuite accounting software is highly preferable.
  • Good math skills and attention to detail.
