Job Description

Description:

The Gettys Group is a hospitality design firm where creativity meets strategy. We bring ideas to life through bespoke and prototypical design, branding, and procurement, partnering with some of the world’s most recognized hotel brands. Our Chicago studio thrives on collaboration, innovation, and delivering exceptional experiences through design.

We’re looking for a talented and motivated Project Designer to join our Chicago team. In this role, you’ll design, manage, and perform as part of a creative team in all phases of the interior design process — from concept through construction administration. You’ll collaborate with senior leadership, guide junior designers, and play a key role in shaping projects that span from boutique experiences to global hospitality brands.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead portions of, or entire, interior design projects in collaboration with senior team leadership.
  • Contribute to all phases of the design process including materials research, schematic design, design development, construction documents, renderings, and construction administration.
  • Translate brand standards and design direction into compelling, buildable solutions.
  • Mentor and direct design staff while collaborating across disciplines and with external consultants/vendors.
  • Manage client and brand relationships with professionalism and creativity.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure high-quality results.

Requirements:
  • 6–8 years of professional experience in interior design, ideally with hospitality projects.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture (CIDA- or NAAB-accredited program).
  • NCIDQ certification preferred.
  • Strong skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop), SketchUp, and Enscape rendering.
  • Knowledge of FF&E, specification writing (SPEXX or Specsources preferred), and construction documentation.
  • Ability to present confidently, communicate effectively, and foster strong client relationships.
  • A collaborative spirit with the ability to both lead and support project teams.

Benefits

  • Quality healthcare plan available on the first of the month following 60-days of employment
  • Company paid basic Life insurance, as well as short and long-term disability
  • Paid time off plus 14 paid holidays, flex-Friday scheduling in the summer months
  • 401k match after 1-year
  • Dog-friendly office setting
  • Remote Fridays
