Job Description The Privacy Analyst is responsible for assessing and evaluating patient requests to exercise their privacy rights, initiating, managing, and overseeing investigative processes, and developing and directing final resolutions to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state regulations. This role conducts internal investigations in response to audit findings, complaints, and special requests, ensuring thorough, effective, and accurate processes that uphold patient privacy rights under the Privacy Rule and organizational policies. The analyst plans, coordinates, executes, and completes timely proactive audits as per the Privacy Office Audit Plan. They perform and analyze complex audits independently to create a robust proactive audit plan, completing audits on time and within budget, and reporting findings and recommendations to the Privacy Manager. Based on initial findings, they identify trends, business rules, and requirements, creating supplemental and new audits, as well as educational initiatives. The role also involves coordinating, maintaining, and updating the HIPAA/Privacy educational program. The Privacy Analyst supports the Privacy Manager and Chief Privacy Officer with activities related to the Privacy Office Programs, including Patient Rights, Privacy Auditing, Identity Theft Prevention, Educational Programs, and Investigations. The estimated salary range for this position is $62,974.07 - $81,866.29 per year, depending on experience. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required. Work experience in the Privacy, Compliance, or investigative field preferred. Strong investigative, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Ability to resolve complex problems and develop partnerships with internal departments. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to multitask, manage multiple high-profile projects, and exercise independent judgment and discretion with sensitive information. Effective communication skills for all organizational levels, including employees, leadership, clinicians, physicians, and non-employed staff. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong aptitude for learning and understanding Clinical IT applications, and ability to extract and manipulate data for analysis, reporting, and trending purposes.
