Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks a driven, and focused individual to join the Retirement Services team as a Pension Associate I. This position entails researching, analyzing, calculating, and determining member benefits, eligibility, and compensation in one of the disciplines (State, Teacher, or Participating Local District employees). Applicant must have attention to detail, good communication, problem solving, and strong analytical skills. This is the entry-level position in the Pension Associate Job Series (PAJS). Candidates will have the ability to progress within the job series by demonstrating proficiency within each series or step with an emphasis on employee development and performance evaluation. This helps provide an organized approach to advancement opportunities to ensure employees receive the attention and support they deserve. MainePERS is an established, professional, and dynamic organization that manages a variety of employee benefits for Maine’s public sector workers. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications: High school graduation plus four (4) years of responsible, self-directed work experience that demonstrates excellent customer service, research and analysis, computational, computer skills and the ability to work under limited supervision. - OR - Post-secondary degree and two years related work experience. Salary and Benefits: Salary begins at $21.04/hr or $43,763 if annualized.
