Qualifications

We are seeking strong applicants for all teaching roles, whether new or experienced. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • While a background in education is not required for new teachers, a passion for working with K-12 students and prior experience in schools or urban communities is preferred.
Additional Qualifications for Experienced Teachers
  • A proven track record of high achievement in the classroom.
  • A minimum of two years of teaching experience in an urban public school or charter school setting is preferred.
  • Valid State Certification and a Master’s degree are beneficial but not required.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university before employment begins.
  • A cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher by the time employment begins.

Compensation

Compensation for this role ranges from $50,000 to $64,700 . Starting pay is determined by various factors, including relevant full-time teaching experience, education certifications, and tenure with Uncommon Schools. Candidates without full-time teaching experience will likely start at $50,000.
