Job Summary:

Google is a leading technology company developing next-generation technologies to enhance user interaction with information. They are seeking a Software Engineer in Computational Photography to develop algorithms for imaging pipelines and optimize solutions for edge devices, impacting camera technology significantly.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop algorithms/solutions for edge device (e.g., XR devices) imaging pipelines, including multi-frame burst processing, demosaicing, denoising, artifact reduction, HDR tone-mapping, and content-aware sharpening.
2. Apply excellent programming skills and/or machine learning knowledge to optimize algorithms for computational photography challenges in edge devices.
3. Prototype and evaluate research papers in computational photography, computer vision, graphics, and Generative AI.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year with an advanced degree in an industry setting.
• 2 years of experience in computational photography/computer vision.
• 1 year of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products.

Preferred:

• Experience with GPU, NEON, Halide, DSP optimization algorithms.
• Experience with testing, profiling, benchmarking, and optimizing code for latency.
• Experience developing for low compute or power-constrained Android devices.
• Experience with C/C++ build systems and tooling.
• Passion for productionizing computational photography technologies.
