We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Jr. QA Tester with 3 to 6 years of experience having solid hands?on knowledge in testing desktop applications in a Windows environment. The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to restricted projects and must be a U.S. Citizen due to project compliance requirements. This role requires onsite presence in Overland Park, Kansas.

Key Responsibilities

• Test Case Design: develop clear, structured, and comprehensive test cases following established guidelines and standards; ensure coverage of functional, regression, and edge?case scenarios.
• Test Execution: execute test cases for desktop applications on Windows systems, perform validation of Windows patches to ensure no impact on existing desktop apps, and conduct multiple rounds of testing to ensure stability, performance, and compatibility.
• Bug Reporting & Defect Management: identify, document, and triage defects with clear, precise descriptions; collaborate with development and support teams to ensure timely resolution; track defect status through closure, ensuring thorough retesting.
• Documentation & Compliance: produce high?quality test artifacts including test cases, execution logs, defect reports, and summary reports; ensure all documentation adheres to project compliance and audit standards.
• Cross?Functional Communication: coordinate effectively with product, development, and support teams; provide clear testing updates, risks, and issues in a timely manner; maintain professionalism and strong interpersonal communication throughout all interactions.

Required Skills

• 5 years hands?on experience as Quality Analysis.
• 3 years hands?on experience in testing desktop applications.
• Proven experience in testing desktop applications on Windows environments.
• Hands?on experience validating Windows patches and system?level updates.
• Strong ability to write structured, detailed test cases and test documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in reporting defects clearly and managing them through resolution.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Preference for candidates with prior experience working on restricted or classified projects.
