SALARY: $80,000 - $90,000 PER YEAR
WORK LOCATION: Seattle, WA – Elysian Brewing Company (On-Site)
JOB SUMMARY: This position is the main safety point of contact for Elysian and owns the management of safety, environmental, sustainability, and security programs for the company
This entails:
Directing and implementing all environment, safety, sustainability and security programs
Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, standards and requirements (WISHA, OSHA, Seattle Fire, DOT, King County Industrial Waste, and company internal regulatory)
Building and maintaining a proactive safety culture
Craft division reporting, collaboration, and best practice sharing
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for and develops safety improvement initiatives and the daily management of ongoing safety operations
Provides insight, training, and information for senior management team regarding safety strategic objectives and regulatory compliance
Manages all safety activities associated with all functions owned and or operated by Elysian
Conducts risk assessments to identify and control E & S risks to reduce injury and costs
Manages and coordinates medical claims with doctors, and case managers as they relate to Workers’ Compensation
Manages the general liability prevention and claims management associated with all Elysian properties
Point of contact for facility emergencies
Point of contact for facility regulatory and compliance with city and state agencies
Oversees all light duty program and coordination
Leads environmental and sustainability community outreach programs that contribute to the company’s image
Develops a risk management program in terms of identifying practices and programs that diminish Elysian’s image, and then addresses them accordingly.
Performs “after action” investigations and then provides training based on findings
Safety Culture survey review and action planning
Responsible for brewery team/pub safety engagement
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Health & Safety, Environmental or equivalent degree and experience - required
3+ years of experience in operational leadership (OL), in roles of increasing responsibility
Previous experience in the manufacturing or industrial environments
Understands and employs a safety-first approach
Drives a culture of safety and beer quality before production
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and general public.
Ability to analyze and develop solutions to complex issues.
Leads discussions and presentations with team.
Develops strategic and operational plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results
Plans and manages business unit and department processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
Excellent attention to detail, follow through, and commitment to quality.
Proven ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team
Proven ability to prioritize and delegate work under constantly shifting business needs.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Willingness to work flexible schedules to meet deadlines
Ability to successfully handle multiple tasks and prioritize well
Demonstrated initiative and innovation utilizing a proactive, team-oriented approach
