Job Description

Position Overview

Our client, a leading retail company , is seeking a Director of Supply Chain to lead and optimize all aspects of their supply chain operations. This strategic role will oversee procurement, inventory management, logistics, distribution, and vendor relations to ensure products are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with customer demand and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership
    • Develop and execute supply chain strategies aligned with retail growth and operational objectives.
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve supply chain performance, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Procurement & Vendor Management
    • Oversee sourcing and procurement of merchandise and supplies.
    • Build strong relationships with vendors and negotiate contracts to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
  • Inventory & Demand Planning
    • Implement demand forecasting models and inventory optimization strategies.
    • Monitor stock levels across retail locations and distribution centers to prevent shortages or overstock.
  • Logistics & Distribution
    • Manage transportation, warehousing, and last-mile delivery operations.
    • Ensure timely and accurate distribution of products to retail stores and customers.
  • Technology & Systems
    • Leverage ERP and supply chain management systems to streamline operations.
    • Identify and implement automation and digital tools to enhance supply chain visibility and efficiency.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
    • Mitigate supply chain risks through contingency planning and supplier diversification.
  • Team Leadership
    • Build and lead a high-performing supply chain team.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and innovation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in retail supply chain leadership.
  • Proven success in managing end-to-end supply chain operations.
  • Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain analytics tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in multi-location retail environments.
  • Familiarity with omnichannel fulfillment strategies.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices in supply chain operations.
