Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to support our client in Sonoma County, California. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to oversee financial operations, provide critical analysis, and lead a dedicated accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial management, reporting, and process improvement within a manufacturing, engineering, or services environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage month-end closing procedures, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee quarterly and annual reporting processes, delivering comprehensive financial insights.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
• Supervise and guide an accounting team of three, fostering collaboration and enhancing productivity.
• Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and process documentation to streamline workflows.
• Manage inventory control processes and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Review and analyze contracts to maintain compliance and optimize terms.
• Fully leverage and utilize existing ERP modules, driving efficiency and maximizing system capabilities.
• Provide expertise in manufacturing, engineering, or services industries to enhance financial operations and reporting
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or related roles.
• Strong proficiency in month-end close, financial reporting, and analysis.
• Demonstrated experience creating SOPs and process documentation.
• Familiarity with ERP systems such as Epicor, Acumatica, Business Central, and/or NetSuite and ability to utilize them effectively.
• Proven ability to guide and manage an accounting team.
• Experience in inventory control and contract review.
• Background in manufacturing, engineering, or services industries is highly preferred.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
