SJJ Law is seeking an Associate Attorney with 3+ years of HOA/community association law experience to join our Denver office. This is a hands-on role for an attorney who excels at advising HOAs, property managers, and multi-unit housing clients, while handling general civil legal matters.
You’ll work closely with clients, mentor junior attorneys, and contribute to the growth of a collaborative, client-focused practice.
Preference will be given to candidates with a portable book of business, but that is not a requirement.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Advise HOA boards and property managers on compliance, enforcement, collections, and governing documents
* Draft, review, and interpret declarations, bylaws, rules, contracts, and resolutions
* Handle contracts, disputes, demand letters, and negotiations
* Represent clients in administrative hearings or court proceedings as needed
* Provide strategic guidance on legal risks, options, and solutions
* Manage deadlines, billable work, and supervise legal assistants
* Mentor junior attorneys and support practice growth
* Maintain timely, professional client communication
* Stay current on legislative updates in property, real estate, and HOA law
* Perform a minimum of 1500 billable hours annually
*Qualifications*
*Required:*
* J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
* Active Colorado law license
* 3+ years of HOA/community association law experience
* Strong legal writing, communication, and organizational skills
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software
*Preferred:*
* Experience with HOAs, property managers, or common interest communities
* Familiarity with Colorado Common Interest Ownership Act (CCIOA)
* Experience drafting and interpreting governing documents and contracts

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
